Nathaniel Arcand is Plains Cree (Nehiyaw), from the Alexander First Nation Reserve. He was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, the oldest of six children living with a single parent. Nathaniel’s breakout role was in the television series “North of 60” in 1994 as William MacNeil. Since then he has worked with the likes of Lord Richard Attenborough, Kathy Bates, and Pierce Brosnan. Nathaniel plays series-regular roles on CBC’s “Heartland”, opposite Adam Beach in “Moose TV”, and is seen as Victor Merasty in the award-winning series “Blackstone” for APTN and Showcase. Nathaniel regularly attends youth conferences for Native children and teens to talk about self-esteem, self-empowerment, and how to break into the acting business. He is also a father to three children, the youngest of whom, Griffin Powell-Arcand, is following in his father’s footsteps.
